ERIC KEENEY
Designer, photographer, music geek and mountain freak.
Born and raised in Oregon, owner Eric Keeney is a 30-year veteran creative as a graphic designer and video producer. His diverse background started in print production and pre-press, eventually growing into graphic design and art director positions for companies like Morrow Snowboards, Bonfire Snowboarding, Nemo Design and Nike. He also published a regional snowboard and music magazine throughout Oregon, Washington and Idaho during the 90’s called Volcano Magazine where he served as editor, publisher and designer.
In the year 2002 Eric switched gears and completed a two-year film and television program at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California. He began working as a cameraman for local news in the Bay area, as well as shooting internationally for the adventure/travel television program Taste for Adventure, which aired on the Fine Living Network. Then after two years in Washington State shooting for a season with the NBA and Seattle Supersonics and a year snowboarding at Mt. Baker, Eric met his wife Kelly and moved to his wife’s native Colorado to raise a family and live, laugh, love, work and play in the mountains.
Enter Studio Montane Zone – the creative headquarters that sit at 8,400 feet, adjacent the Roosevelt National Forest and the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Graphic Design & Motion, Studio Photography, Video and Audio Prodution – including several new YouTube channels – keep the studio humming most days. Past and present clients include: Eldora Mountain Resort, Stashlogix, Knotted Root Brewery, Clif Bar, Justin’s Nut Butter, PhocusWright, Boulder Beer, Loveland Ski Resort, Wend Magazine, The Town of Nederland and Busey Brews – to name a few.
